CGC News – June 29th 2016

Well done to Bridie Doherty on her lady captain’s day last Saturday. In the high scoring men’s competition, Sean Mc Geady was third on 39pts with Chris Mc Callion second on 40 just pipped by Ultan Faherty also on 40. 

There will be the usual club competition on Sunday leading into Open Week which commences on July 10th with the Dunmmurry Open,singles stableford. This year the club is introducing a €40 ticket for members to enter all competitions for the duration of Open Week. More details next week.

The minor league team quietly bowed out in Portsalon last Thursday and well done to Portsalon who are through to the next round. The Donegal League team play Bundoran in the away leg next Monday.

In our very successful Euro competition the winner of €300 with 48 points was John Mc Callion and in 2nd place was John Cannon who wins €100. Carmel Curran won €50 in the draw for non golfers. Thanks again for all the support.

There is a committee meeting on Monday night and all help with voluntary work on the course before Open Week would be very much appreciated.

Well done also to the Cloughaneely members of the HSE team, who won the classic in support of Mental Health, in Dunfanaghy, last Friday.
